How to simple combine two images in IMageMagic Script if these are of differnet size...?

please clarify how you want to combine them. do you want them side by side? do you want on on top of the other? what do you really need?
Are you using Imagick PHP API or just ImageMagick in command line?

convert image1 image2 -gravity center -background black +append result
