ImageMagick Consulting Advice Needed

Hello,
I am working on a project to extract footprints from an image.
I have two challenges:
1.) How to locate and orient the footprint(s) within the source image
2.) How best to extract the image and convert to transparent PNG through the use of thresholding
cropped
current process
I am still very new to ImageMagick and this has been a major challenge for me. I have gone through many hours and dollars trying to get this to work.
If anyone is willing to work with me directly i would be greatly indebted.
