We have successfully installed ImageMagick-5.4.2-3 on AIX 5.3, but while conversion,
-> convert test.ps m1.gif
convert: Missing an image file name.

Can you convert from gif to gif? If so, then have you installed Ghostscript?
That is is very old version of IM. I suggest you upgrade.

root@login1/tmp>convert test.ps test.gif
root@login1/tmp>ls -l test.gif
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 550455 Jan 14 14:36 test.gif
root@login2/tmp>convert test.ps test.gif
convert: Missing an image file name.
could you please check.
