Etched Zig-Zag money effect

I was looking for a tool to create a zig-zag etched look like the one achieved in this photoshop tutorial.

Is this possible in ImageMagik? Can someone advise?

This is with a single layer. I haven't explored multiple layers.

I saw the money effect, but it was rather complicated with all the layers. So I decided not to try to implement it at the time. Perhaps later.
