cartoonizer / vectorizer

Post by st3v3n »

hey there!

im searching for someone who is able to write a script to cartoonize (vectorize) photos. which other tools (creating helper vector etc.) are used doesnt matter - as long as its fairly fast and runs under linux.
a similar output like this would be nice:

money doesn't matter - let me know if you can do it! :)

yeah, already read that part... i mean im getting sortof close creating a greyscale image, dithering and removing colors and overlaying the outcome over a blurred version of the original... it sortof adds a cartoon style to it but it still looks pretty crappy... everything near the image i put in the original post would be very nice... as i said, which tools are used doesnt matter and how much that person wants for it doesnt matter either (okay, of course not astronomical overpriced)...

It's fairly easy for a single image, although I usually do this kind of stuff in Gimp. See the banner on www.snibgo.org

For a movie, the "recipe" can be translated to IM, and applied to a movie/video shot (ie sequence of similar images). The recipe needs changing for each shot, depending on lighting and the rest.

So why does it have to be "fairly fast", and what do you mean by that?

"a single still portrait photo" -- "couple thousand images".

I'm confused.

If the images are essentially the same, different peple photographed under identical studio conditions, a recipe might be created for them all.

The more the images vary, the more the recipe would need varying.

Right, so "i need it only for a single still portrait photo" really meant "ten thousand different photos".

The smell of fish is becoming overpowering.

if you are willing to pay for it, why not just buy Befunky or pay them for a batch version?

P.S. I still say it would not hurt to post a representative example of one of your images and let others play with it.
